After the weekly 1MillionCups event yesterday, I had a chance to take some photos of the Madison Central Library. The renovation of the library was completed about two years ago. Frankly speaking, I seldom visited there before its renovation.
According to the library’s guidelines for photography, “The library can be used for this purpose as long as the photo/audio/video recording activity follows the behavior policy and the recorded work does not include library patrons. Photographers and other artists should not move furniture, relocate library property, or bring in significant props without prior permission.”
If you are familiar with my work, you may already know that I don’t usually include people in my photos. So the guidelines do not bother me at all. I would just hope there was no people at the location I wanted to photograph. Since this was not an assignment, I was not really worried about the positioning of furniture. It’s more like a personal assignment, and I just wanted to see what I could do with limited space and time. Your feedback is more than welcome.
As a side note, The Pynk Phoenix Exchange exhibit is currently on display at the Madison Central Library. You might want to take a look and vote for your favorite artist. For more details, please visit their website.
This is a really cool looking library. I especially like the window/wall design in the second image.
